1046 N Sheridan - A Ernest Mayo Designed Landmark Home in Evanston

Evening Workshops —- Morning Workshops Event Sponsors

This a 2 week collaborative event, between Rejuvestate, Janet Kohl Group, and Local Designers.  It is benefiting Designs for Dignity & Citizens Lighthouse Landtrust of Evanston.  The event is multi-faceted.  It’s about the process of bringing a home and a human spirit back to its authentic condition.  Its also about Sustainable Options!

A little bit about the Historic Home w/ a Green Twist !

“Restoration of Spirit” is not your typical show case house. Area designers were given the challenge to help restore the planet by “thinking green” but not in the typical way only using Bamboo flooring and organic fabrics but also to reuse things that were salvaged, repurposed, restored or otherwise not put into a landfill.

Green doesn’t always mean forgetting the past and living in a modern prefabricated house with solar panels. Preservation is the first Green movement. Since construction waste is the #1 material put into landfills, saving the past and restoring a house rather than starting over can benefit our planet in a bigger way than we can imagine.

The showcase home + workshop event is a place where designers, artists and experts in historic preservation, spiritual growth and the Green movement have collaborated to create a holistic vision that combines all aspects of an awakened life and planet.
